The Secret Keeper Left Behind

I was at my desk working when he came home from his day at work.  I called out a greeting while I was writing.  I then felt his presence behind me.  My instincts were telling me danger, but reason beat down the instinctive danger sensor because after all it was only my husband behind me..  I turned and saw him in his uniform, my beloved, but instead of loving words of greeting he told me in an authoritative tone that I did not greet him properly.  I argued that I had given an appropriate greeting.  He disagreed and told me that I was to stand to greet him.  I thought he was off his rocker with such a request and told him that just because people at work stand for him when he enters a room does not mean that I snap to attention when he comes home.  The exchange…
